Eligibility Requirements:

The Love Soong memorial scholarship is open to all medical students currently attending medical schools in the United States and who are in need of financial aid regardless of race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex and religious beliefs. The applicants are judged according to their academic achievements, financial needs, community service records and their views on the practice of medicine as expressed in their essay.

Checklist

  • Current MS2 to MS5 medical students specializing in gynecological oncology research. Enrollment in a not-for-profit medical school accredited by the AMA and/or the World Health Organization
  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired).
  • Your 1040 tax return for current year (or previous year if return not yet available) or your parents' 1040 if you are a dependent. Send a scanned copy to director@lovesoong.org.
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation.  Letters of Recommendations need to be directly emailed to director@lovesoong.org.
    (1) a MS faculty member or the Dean,
    (1) in support of your research and/or community services.

$2,500 up to $5,000
(two-three scholarships per year if possible)

 

Scholarships are granted upon application to those students who best satisfy the requirements of the Love Soong memorial scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be notified by email or telephone. The names of the recipients will also be posted on the Scholarship page of the Love Soong website at www.lovesoong.org.
