End of 2018 Recap

Reflecting on 2018, it has been a tough year filled with grief and big changes for the Soong family, but it has also been a year of gratitude. We want to give a big public Thank You to everyone who has contributed to the Love Soong organization. There are too many of you to list, but we would like to express a special thank you to her classmates from Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan, which is where Shelley received her bachelor’s degree. It’s amazing how everyone has kept in touch after 40+ years, and it means a lot that you have all kept her in your hearts and memories.

To all of our friends, family, co-workers, and supporters — thank you so much for donating to Love Soong to help battle gynecological cancer. We couldn’t do this without you.

We hope you all can come join us next year at the 22nd Sprint for Life to walk/run in Shelley’s memory and directly impact ovarian cancer research.

Also, we have exciting news! As many of you know, Shelley generously donated her body to the Willed Body Program at UTHealth McGovern Medical School, and her cremated remains were just returned to the family. Her final wishes have always been to have her ashes spread in the most beautiful of places, and so, at the end of this year we will be embarking on this journey with a 10 day road trip including stops in Sedona (AZ), Zion National Park (UT), and Joshua Tree National Park (CA). She had the best time there and thought it was absolutely beautiful, so we want to make sure part of her gets to go back.

Wish us luck! Happy holidays to everyone! Again, thank you to all of our donors and advocates for your patience and never-ending support. On-wards to 2019!
